What if you were treated differently because of the color of your skin? What if you had to go to a different school? Or always sit at the back of the bus? This is segregation. Segregation means separate. When people are segregated, they are not treated the same. Segregation is not fair.
When people are equal, they are treated the same. They can go to the same schools. They can sit together. The color of our skin does not matter when we are equal. Being equal means being treated fairly.
