This unique kit contains an ebony family tree, a calabash spoon, a hut, and a teacher direct manual. Each item is authentic and comes from Kenya, East Africa. Activities in the teacher’s manual are designed to build the concepts of family, food, eating and home life throughout the basic curriculum areas. Children will develop a keen awareness of their families, who makes a family, and the relationships of family members. There are opportunities for children to compare and contrast African homes, foods and eating practices with their own. Activities will also assist in the development of hand to eye coordination, fine motor skills, and cognitive skills. Ages 3 and up.
