Activities in the teacher’s manual are designed to build the concepts of family, food, eating and home life throughout the basic curriculum areas. Children will develop a keen awareness of their families, who makes a family, and the relationships of family members. There are opportunities for children to compare and contrast African homes, foods and eating practices with their own.
