Description

Introduce essential vocabulary and language patterns to high-beginning English language learners with these 28 eight-page readers covering 14 everyday themes. Includes two readers at different levels for each theme to make differentiated instruction easy and help students make connections as they progress. Level 1 readers contain simple informational (nonfiction) text illustrated with color photography. Level 2 readers offer more challenging, fictional texts with realistic color illustrations. Both levels feature simple stories with predictable sentence structures to support development of vocabulary, language patterns, reading comprehension and fluency. Manipulative-based reinforcement and assessment activities appear at the back of each reader. A 48-page Teaching Guide with 14 thematic lessons that address listening, speaking, reading, writing and the school-home connection is included.
