The Paired Passages series for grades 1 to 6 will help students improve their reading comprehension skills by having students read and synthesize pairs of passages. Each pair of passages, linked by a common topic or theme, is followed by two pages of questions and activities. Students will compare and contrast fiction with fiction, nonfiction with nonfiction, and fiction with nonfiction. These high-interest passages represent a variety of genres, including literature (narrative, realistic fiction, poetry, etc.), social studies, and science.
