釜石市
釜石市（かまいしし）は、岩手県の南東部、陸中海岸国立公園の中心に位置し、世界三大漁場の一つ三陸漁場と典型的なリアス式海岸を持つ市。
人口47300人(平成12年10月末)。近代製鉄業発祥の地であるが製鉄所の閉鎖に伴い人口が減っている。
