アメリカ州の先住民族
アメリカ州の先住民は、15世紀のコロンブスによってなされた近代ヨーロッパ人のアメリカ海域への到達以前から、アメリカ州に住んでいた諸民族を指す。ヨーロッパ人との混血も進んでいる。政府の定める多くの特別居住区に民族として単独で暮らしている場合もある。人種的には日本人と同じ蒙古系の黄色人種である。幼児期に蒙古班もある。ベーリング海が氷で陸続きだった時代(紀元前2万年以前)に、ユーラシアから移住したと言われる。
アメリカ先住民、アメリカ先住民族、ネイティブ・アメリカン(先住アメリカ人、原アメリカ人の意味)とも呼ばれる。アメリカ・インディアンというときにアメリカ州のインディアン全体を指す場合もある。日本では、アメリカ・インディアンがアメリカ合衆国のインディアンを、インディオが南アメリカ大陸の先住民族を指す場合がある。

The native peoples of the United States and Canada are commonly classified by ten geographical regions, which shared cultural traits. The following list is based on the region of origin, followed by the current location. See the individual article for the tribe for a history of their movements. The regions are:
