Note: the county councils of the metropolitan counties of South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire have been abolished.

• North Yorkshire (the North Riding, plus north of East and West)
• South Yorkshire (the south of the West Riding)

• West Yorkshire (the core area of the West Riding)

  • Leeds

• East Riding of Yorkshire (previously part of East Riding, then Humberside)
• Kingston upon Hull (previously part of East Riding, then Humberside)
• North East Lincolnshire (previously part of Lincolnshire, then Humberside)
