Vicente Huidobro

Chilean poet, his real name was: Vicente GARCIA-HUIDOBRO FERNANDEZ, born on 10/01/1893 from an old aristocratic family in Chile. Leader of the "Creacionism" literarian movement, whereby a poet is asked to bring to life the things he write about, rather than just describe them. He spent a big part of his life in France during the 1910's and 1920's (thought to be a proper thing to do for the Chilean upper class) where he wrote many of his work, getting to be known to the artistic élite of the time in Paris, such as Picasso, Juan Gris, Tristan Tzara, Ozentfant and Le Corbusier. Is master work is a series of poems called "Altazor", but also "Temblor de Cielo" and "Mio Cid Campeador".
