Uttar Pradesh
Uttar Pradesh is one of the statess of India. The capital is Lucknow, other notable cities include Ayodhya, Kanpur, Benares and Deoband. Neighbouring states are Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar. Uttar Pradesh has also a border with Nepal.Uttar Pradesh covers a large part of the densely populated plains around the Ganges. With 166 million inhabitants, it is the most populous state in India and also one of the most economically backward states.
