The Origin and Deeds of the Goths
The Origin and Deeds of the Goths (Latin: De origine aebusque Getarum) - Commonly reffered to as Getica written by Jordanes in the middle of the 6th century AD, describes the origin and the history of the Gothic people as collected from various sources, mainly Cassiodorus, who had written a much more extensive work on the Gothic people and their history. Cassiodorus' version has not survived, so Jordanes' work remains one of the most important sources for European tribes, and the Goths in particular, during the first six centuries A.D.Se also Getica
