The Hospital

The Hospital is a 1971 black comedy film which tells the story of a suicidal hospital head whose life becomes even more bizarre as all of the patients in the hospital begin to die. It stars George C. Scott, Diana Rigg, Barnard Hughes, Richard A. Dysart, Stephen Elliott, Nancy Marchand and Roberts Blossom.

The movie was written by Paddy Chayefsky and directed by Arthur Hiller.

It won the Oscar for Best Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Factual Material or Material Not Previously Published or Produced (Paddy Chayefsky), and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (George C. Scott). The film has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.
