The Fast and the Furious is a 2001 movie starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. The movie's plot was based on a story by journalist Ken Li. The plot involves an undercover policeman (Walker) who becomes enthralled by the lifestyle of illegal street racers.It was written by Gary Scott Thompson, Erik Bergquist and David Ayer.
A sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, was released in 2003. Diesel did not return for the second film.
The Fast and the Furious is also the name of a 1954 movie starring John Ireland and Dorothy Malone. It was written by Roger Corman, and was the first film produced by Corman's American International Pictures production company.
