The Eagle and Child

The Eagle and Child is a pub in Oxford, England. It is chiefly noted for its use by The Inklings, a writers' group which included C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein. Its sign shows an eagle carrying a small child in a fold of cloth from its beak. It is sometimes referred to as 'The Bird and Baby'.
