The Cardigans
The Cardigans are a Swedish indie/pop band that rose to fame with the success of the 1996 single "Lovefool". In 1994 "Emmerdale", their debut album was released on Stockholm Records, followed in 95 by "Life". 1996 gave us "First Band on the Moon" 1998 "Gran Turismo" 2003 "Long Gone Before Daylight" (not currently available in the US, except as an import)Although later albums with a darker tone have not enjoyed the same success in the United States, the Cardigans have continued to develop musically and have a strong European following. Recently, the band have followed a more country music style, perhaps to generate more sales in the USA.
