Ted Joans

Ted Joans (born Theodore Jones on July 4, 1928; died May 2003) was an American painter, trumpeter and a jazz poet. Joans invented the outagraph, which is a surrealist photographic method in which the subject, what the photograph is "of," has been cut out.
