Tay Road Bridge

The Tay Road Bridge is a road bridge in Scotland over the River Tay from Newport-on-Tay in the north east of Fife, to the City of Dundee. It lies to the east of the Tay Rail Bridge.

Designed by William Fairhurst, it is a concrete multispanned toll bridge, 1.4 miles (2250 m) long, and one of the longest road bridges in Europe. It is 10 m (32') above water level. West Graving Dock, King William Dock and Earl Grey dock were infilled as part of the construction. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother opened the bridge on August 18, 1966.
