Tabaré Vázquez
Tabaré Vázquez is the leader of the
Uruguayan Broad Front Political Party (Frente Amplio in Spanish) and perennial presidential candidate. In the
2000 elections he received 48% percent of the vote in an election and he is widely expected to win the upcoming elections in November
2004. He is often compared to
Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, the
President of Brazil.
