Stardust (spacecraft)
Stardust is a interplanetary spacecraft launched
February 7 1999. In
January 2004 it will meet a
comet called
Wild 2 and study it. Sample material will be returned to
Earth with a capsule in
2006. Additionally the spacecraft passed within 3300 km of the
asteroid 5535 Annefrank on
November 2 2002 and took several photographs.
