Star Ferry
Star Ferry in Hong Kong transports people across Victoria Harbor, from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon and has been operating since the late 1800s.The fleet of nine ferries operates four routes across the harbor, carrying over 70,000 passengers a day, or 26 million a year. Even though today there are more modern ways to cross the harbor by subway and road tunnels, the Star Ferry is highly efficient and useful, while providing the famous view of the harbor and Hong Kong skyline.
Cross-harbor routes:
- Central to Tsim Sha Tsui
- Wanchai to Tsim Sha Tsui
- Central to Hung Hom
- Wan Chai to Hung Hom
In 2003, the Star Ferry began a tourist cruise, making an indirect, circular route to all the stops.
