Social Credit Party of British Columbia
The Social Credit Party of British Columbia, whose members are known as Socreds, was the governing party of British Columbia for more then 30 years between 1952 and 1991, although there was a break between 1972 and 1975 while the NDP was in power.Note that the party did not follow the Social Credit ideology - it was largely conservative in nature.
In the 1990s the party sank into obscurity, as most members joined the BC Reform Party or the BC Unity Party.
