Social constructionism
Social constructionism is a postmodern school of thought associated with sociology and epistemology, that claims that much of what we perceive as reality and progress is socially constructed to be perceived that way, and not founded in "truth" or any objective world.
Social constructionism is often vehemently criticized, one of the more aggressive attacks on social constructionism was the so-called Sokal Affair, which to many people demonstrated the "social construction of social constructionism".
