Skeletal muscle
Skeletal muscles are striated muslces that are under voluntary control of the
organism. Making up the large muscles masses, they are attached to the
bones of the body and are utilized for locomotion and other movements. They have elongated, cylindrical shape, and are multinucleated. The
nuclei of these muscles are located just under the
plasma membrane, which vacates the central part of the muscle fiber for myofibrils. This unique ararngement of the nuclei allows for higher efficiency.
