Seventeen is a young women's magazine targeted at the 12 to 24 age group. It was first published in 1944 and is today considered by many to be the most popular magazine for teenage girls. The title is said to have come from Frank Sinatra's song "It Was a Very Good Year", which begins with the line "When I was seventeen".
