Schwarzschild metric

In general relativity, the Schwarzschild metric is a static spherically symmetric solution of Einstein's field equations of the vacuum (, where is the Ricci tensor).

It is given explicitly as

where is the gravitational radius (or Schwarzschild radius) and is the mass of the source of the field.
