School of Veterinary Medicine Hanover
German: Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover (TiHo Hannover)The School of Veterinary Medicine Hanover is one of the five faculties for veterinary medicine in Germany, and the only one that remained independent. Founded in 1778, it is also one of the oldest universities of its kind. In Germany it is arguably the faculty with the best reputation in this field. According to the website there are currently about 2,200 university students, 1,750 of which study veterinary medicine, and 450 study biology. The staff has 1000 members, for example 65 professors, 250 other scientific assistents. The rest is mostly engaged in the 6 clinics and institutes for pretty much every field of veterinary medicine. The clinics have an average of 65,000 patients a year, and of course, there are a lot of apprentices in related professions.
