Sapardi Djoko Damono

Sapardi Djoko Damono (born March 20, 1940) is a famous Indonesian poet. Known for his beautiful lyrics poems.

Sapardi is well known for his works such as the poem Hujan Bulan Juni and others. He is also a professor at University of Indonesia, teaching literature in the Faculty of Cultural Science.

His extensive and intensive involvement in the University has bore him the title Professor of Indonesian Poets. He was once elected as a dean of the faculty, during that period he had received several protest from the students.
