Sacheen Littlefeather
Sacheen Littlefeather (born 1947), donned in Apache dress, rejected the Oscar on behalf of actor Marlon Brando in a prepared statement at the March 27,1973 Academy Awards. She refused Brando's Best Actor Oscar for The Godfather to protest Hollywood's and television's mistreatment of American Indians, including Wounded Knee. "Littlefeather" -- aka Maria Cruz -- is of Hispanic ancestry.
