Rockin' Dopsie
Rockin' Dopsie, (born
Alton Rubin) (
February 10,
1932 -
August 26,
1993) was a leading
Zydeco musician and button
accordian player from south
Louisiana. He was born in
Carencro, Louisiana and enjoyed popular success first in
Europe and later in the
USA. Since his death from heart failure, his band continues to perform, now led by his son Dopsie Jr., a
washboard player.
