Porter Brook

The Porter Brook is a river in Sheffield, England. It flows eastward from near Stanage Edge in the Peak District, past Ringinglow where it is held at Forge Dam. Beyond the dam it makes its way through parkland before running alongside Ecclesall Road. The latter section of the river is largely built over and runs through tunnels beneath the city. It meets the similarly subterranean River Sheaf somewhere underneath the railway station.

The river, long harnessed for industrial activity, passes the Shepherd Wheel waterwheel and the Sharrow Snuff Mills, as well as the Sheffield General Cemetery.
