Pierre-Joseph-Olivier Chauvreau
Pierre-Joseph-Olivier Chauveau (1820-1890) Born in Quebec, he was the first prime minister of the province of
Quebec in
1867. He also had the Minister of Education and Provincial Secretary. In
1873, he was appointed to the
Canadian senate as Speaker. In
1878, he became professor of
Roman law at
Laval University.
