Pidgey (Poppo in japanese) is a basic normal-type Pokémon that evolves into Pidgeotto at level 18 and Pidgeot at level 36. A common sight in forests and woods, Pidgey is very docile; when attacked, it will usually flap its wings rapidly at ground level to kick up sand rather than fighting, a technique also used to drive insect prey out into the open.

Availability

In Pokémon Red/Blue, Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal, Pidgey can be found on various routes. In Pokémon Sapphire/Ruby, Pidgey is not available at all.

Pidgey also appears in the Nintendo 64 game Pokémon Snap.

Strengths / Weaknesses

Pidgey is vulnerable to Electric, Ice and Rock, and strong against Grass, Ground, Bug and Ghost.
