Pauline Kael

Pauline Kael (June 19, 1919 - September 3, 2001) was best known as the film critic for The New Yorker. She was born in California and died of Parkinson's disease in Massachusetts. She published a book, I Lost It At the Movies in 1965, and wrote columns and reviews for the The New Yorker from 1967 to 1991. Other published works include For Keeps, 5001 Nights at the Movies, Hooked, State of the Art, Taking It All In, When the Lights Go Down, Reeling It In, Going Steady and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
