Ostankino Tower

Ostankino Tower free-standing television and radio tower in Moscow. Height 540 meters. Begun in 1963 and completed in 1967. It burned in August 2000 with the loss of three lives and serious structural damage. It is scheduled to reopen in 2004 following massive reconstruction.
