Ņ

Ņ is the fifteenth letter of the Spanish alphabet. Its name is eņe. Although an N with a tilde, it is a separate letter in Spanish, alphabetized between N and O.

It represents a voiced, nasal, palatal sound.

Examples of its use in English are: jalapeņo, piņa colada, piņata, vicuņa. Also El Niņo Current and several places with the name Caņada, such as Caņada del Oro in Arizona, or La Caņada Flintridge in California. Carlos Castaņeda angliziced his name changing "ņ" into "n".
