Newport, Isle of Wight

Newport is the main town on the Isle of Wight, an island in the Solent off the south coast of England. It has a population of 25,000. The town is in the centre of the island and consequently approximately at the farthest point from the sea, but is on the River Medina which flows north to the Solent.
