Meat Loaf
Meat Loaf (born Marvin Lee Aday September 27, 1947) is an actor and rock and roll performer who is best known for his hit songs Bat Out of Hell, Paradise By the Dashboard Light and for his performance as Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.Meat Loaf Facts:
- Meat Loaf's real name is Marvin Lee Aday, his mother was a well-known country singer.
- Meat hates his name being written as 'Meatloaf'.
- Meat has told many stories as to how he got his stage/nickname, but possibly the most likely is that when he was a high-school football player growing up in Texas, he stepped on his coach's foot accidentally, the coach called him a "big hunk of meat loaf". When he began his performing career, he adopted the term as his stage name.
- Meat started his showbiz career as a successful actor in musical theatre in shows such as Hair.
- His first album, Bat Out Of Hell (words and music by Jim Steinman) has sold well over 35,000,000 copies world wide. It remains one of the biggest selling albums ever.
- His album Bat Out Of Hell 2: Back Into Hell sold well over 18,000,000 copies, making it the biggest 'comeback' in music history.

His album Bat out of Hell, with words and music by Jim Steinman, was a huge commercial and critical success. In addition to "Paradise by the Dashboard Light", the album also featured "Two out of Three Ain't Bad".
On November 17, 2003, Meat Loaf collapsed on stage during a performance at London's Wembly Arena. He was hospitalized and diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, a heart disorder in which the heart beats irregularly. The following week he underwent a surgical procedure intended to correct this problem.
