Matamoros

Matamoros is a city in the North of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. Matamoros is located at 25'52 North, 97'30 West, across the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo) from Brownsville, Texas, United States of America. In 2003 Matamoros had an estimated population of about 405,300 people.

Matamoros is about 1000 km away from Mexico City and 571 km from Houston, Texas.

Mario Zolezzi Garcia is the current mayor as of 2003.
