Massacre of Wounded Knee

The Massacre at Wounded Knee occurred on December 29, 1890. It was a hostile encounter between a group of Lakota Sioux Indians and the United States Army. The Army was attempting to disarm the group.

The entire tribe including women and children were slaughtered.
