Martin Brodeur

Martin Brodeur (born May 16, 1972, in Montreal, Quebec) is a ice hockey goaltender, considered one of the best goaltenders of all time.

As of 2003, he plays in the National Hockey League for the New Jersey Devils, which he has done since 1992. Brodeur won three Stanley Cups (1995, 2000, 2003). In 1994, he won the Calder Trophy (rookie of the year). Brodeur won the Jennings Trophy (least goals allowed) in 1997 (shared with Mike Dunham), 1998, and 2003. In 2003, he won the Vezina Trophy (best goaltender). In the 2002 Olympics, Brodeur won an Olympic gold for Canada, becoming the first goaltender to win the Stanley Cup and a Gold Medal. Bordeur currently holds the best goals against average during the NHL's modern era. He holds the record for most shutouts in a playoff year with 7, set in 2003. Brodeur once scored a goal in the NHL playoffs and was credited with one in regular season play.
