Marquess of Queensberry
Marquess of Queensberry is a title in the peerage of Scotland. The title has been held since its creation in 1681/2 by a member of the Douglas family.Allied titles include Earl of Queensberry, Earl of Drumlanrig, Viscount of Drumlanrig, Viscount of Nith, Torthorwald and Ross, Lord Douglas of Hawick and Tibberis, Lord Douglas of Kinmonth, Midlebie and Dornock, and a baronetcy.
The 9th Marquess is particularly well-known because of the rules of boxing which were named for him (the Marquess of Queensberry rules), and for his litigious interaction with Oscar Wilde.
