Jordanes

Jordanes or Jordanis or Iornandes was a 6th century historian. Born in the lower Danube region, he was an probably related to the Ostrogoths. At the time of Justinian, he was a Christian and possibly bishop of Croton. In approximately 551, he wrote "De origine actibusque Getarum" (The origin and deeds of the Goths), "De breviatione chronicorum" and "De regnorum et temporum successione" and many more.
