John Hawkins
Sir John Hawkins (1532 - November 12, 1595) was an English navigator.Hawkins was born in Plymouth. He was treasurer of the navy from 1573 to 1589, and was knighted for his services as a vice-admiral against the Spanish Armada in 1588. In 1595 he accompanied Francis Drake on a treasure-hunting voyage to the West Indies, during which he died at sea off Puerto Rico.
