Hubert de Gicvenchy was born on February 21 1927 in Beauvais, France. He was born into a wealthy family. In 1952, Givenchy opened his own atelier, later he named his first collection Bettina Graziani for Paris's top model. Today "The House of Givenchy" is lead by designer Alexander McQueen.
