Heinrich Goebel

Heinrich Goebel was an early pioneer who did much work on developing the light bulb. Goebel is felt by some to have developed the first practical bulb in 1854. His lamp lasted for up to 400 hours.

He was born German in 1818, and at age 31 emigrated to New York, USA, where he died in 1893.
