Grover Cleveland Alexander

Grover Cleveland "Pete" Alexander (February 26, 1887 - November 4, 1950) was an American baseball player who played Major League Baseball from 1911 to 1930. Alexander is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

He was born in Elba, Nebraska, broke into the major leagues in 1911 with the Philadelphia Phillies. Alexander pitched for the Phillies until 1918 when he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He pitched for the Cubs until 1926 when he was selected off waivers by the St. Louis Cardinals. Alexander pitched for the Cardinals until 1930 when he was traded back to the Phillies where he finished his career.
