Granma (boat)
The
Granma was a cabin cruiser used by
Fidel Castro,
Che Guevara and other Cuban rebels to sail from their exile in
Mexico to
Cuba in
1956. It is nowadays exhibited in the Granma Memorial adjacent to the Museo de la Revolución in
Havana. The province where the rebels (called
expedicionarios del yate Granma in official Cuban slang) landed and Cuba's leading newspaper were named for that vessel.
