Gallic Empire

The Gallic Empire is the modern name for the independent realm that lived a brief existence during the Crisis of the Third Century, from 259 to 274, formed of the break-away provinces of Gaul, Britain, and Spain. It is also known as the Gallo-Roman Empire.

Postumus set up the Empire's capital in Trier, in what is now the Rhineland-Palatinate of Germany.

Its emperors are known primarily from the coins they minted, and their names are as follows:

Postumus 259 - 268
Laelianus 268
Marius 268
Victorinus 268 - 270
Tetricus I 270 - 273
Tetricus II 270 - 274
