Francis Hincks

Sir Francis Hincks

Sir Francis Hincks (1807-1885) was born in Cork, Ireland. He was a member of Parliament for Oxford County in 1841 and Premier of Canada West from 1851 to 1854. He was also an editor of the Toronto Express newspaper. He was dedicated to the cause of responsible government.
