Feluda
Satyajit Ray who is famous for movies like the Apu trilogy was also a prolific writer in Bengali language.Arguably his most famous written works were the exploits of Feluda, a bengali detective. Feluda whose real name was Pradosh C. Mitter was often accompanied in his exploits by his assistant Topshe, and Lalmohan Babu (alias Jatayu), a bumbling writer of crime fiction.
Satyajit Ray wrote thirty-five Feluda stories of which most were extremely poplular among bengali children. Humour was an important aspect of the Feluda adventures. Some of the more famous ones include Sonar Kella (The Golden Fortress) and Joi Baba Felunath which was based in varanasi. The mentioned adventures were made into movies in bengali with famous bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee as Feluda.
Later during the late 80s Feluda also appeared in Indian television with famous actor Shashi Kapoor as Feluda.
