Ethan Rayne
Ethan Rayne is a character in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series, first appearing in the second-season episode "Halloween". Portrayed by the UK actor Robin Sachs, he was introduced as a charming English gentleman who owns a costume shop, but is later revealed as an old friend, and later enemy, of Rupert Giles from his "Ripper" days of dark arts. Giles went to become a watcher after the death of another friend as a result of a ritual gone wrong, and left Ethan when his friend started to worship Chaos.Ethan went on to appear in the episodes "The Dark Age", "Band Candy", and finally "A New Man", where he was last seen being led away by a special section of the millitary that deals with the supernatural, after he turned Rupert into a Fyaral demon.
